Had I not met my b'shert at shul at a very tender age and fallen in love, I would have looked for someone who would have wanted to make aliyah. My husband has no desire and doesn't even really understand why I would want to move there.

So we are here in America -- glued to the television -- and praying for a complete and lasting peace.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1777372649479002037.post-82670172178804153832008-12-30T09:04:00.000-05:002008-12-30T09:04:00.000-05:00Our support is real and it is heartfelt. We know th...Our support is real and it is heartfelt.
We know that it is, and we definitely feel it.

Before we made aliyah, it always used to annoy me when American-Israelis would condescendingly ask us when we were going to be making aliyah. Maybe it was my own guilt speaking - even though I knew why we were still in the States and that we had a concrete and realistic aliyah plan - but I always wondered what right they had to judge us...Mrs. S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14649082640953110457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1777372649479002037.post-91077753995081501352008-12-29T20:29:00.000-05:002008-12-29T20:29:00.000-05:00LFD-I haven't yet heard of special Tehillim groups...LFD-
I haven't yet heard of special Tehillim groups, either. I'm really surprised about that.
Baila-
Jameel is amazing, I agree. I guess living in the Muqata gives you an edge.
RR-
I agree with you completely. I never would judge others because they don't live in Israel. I guess I feel particularly conflicted about it because I did actually make aliyah and had every intention of staying in Israel forever.
Jameel-
Looks like you're getting quite a fan club!SuperRaizyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06742653185025562286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1777372649479002037.post-27549056828644783612008-12-29T10:20:00.000-05:002008-12-29T10:20:00.000-05:00What RR said -- keep your prayers coming!PS: Solid...What RR said -- keep your prayers coming!

PS: Solidarity with Israel is the best reward I could hope for.Jameel @ The Muqatahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15890095633246557332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1777372649479002037.post-34176925541605680122008-12-29T08:28:00.000-05:002008-12-29T08:28:00.000-05:00This really goes against the party line, but I don...This really goes against the party line, but I don't think Israel is the right place for every Jew (my parents, for example, would be miserable here), and I would never, NEVER think badly of any Jew for not living here. NEVER. That's such a huge decision, with so many factors involved- heck, if I hadn't married an Israeli, I'd probably still be in the US...and worried about Israel and feeling insulted when others think it's their business to tell me where I should live.

So please don't let anyone make you feel bad about not living here. Keep those prayers coming!JJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12177030621603250029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1777372649479002037.post-84464707565394151482008-12-28T16:53:00.000-05:002008-12-28T16:53:00.000-05:00We do know how you feel over there. And I also understand the many reasons people choose to stay in the galut, maybe now even more than before.

Thank you for your thoughts.

And isn't Jameel the best? The guy should win some kind of journalism award--how does he know this stuff anyway?Bailahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14115498582378133552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1777372649479002037.post-11599025904528817732008-12-28T13:43:00.000-05:002008-12-28T13:43:00.000-05:00Well said. Also Jameel's blog is the place to go if you want to know what's happening. My close friend who lives in the old city didn't have 1/2 as much information until I shared Jameel's blog.Lakewood Falling Downhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14483392684657880997noreply@blogger.com
