One of God's most beautiful creatures, actor/philanthropist Paul Newman, died yesterday at the age of 83.
Newman starred in some of my favorite films, including Exodus and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. My mother has always had a major crush on him (when she got angry at my father, she would tell him "you're no Paul Newman, you know!" We used to tease her that she was in love with "Paulie poopsie", to which she always replied "well, who isn't?!" Good point.)
Newman donated over $175 million to charity through his food company, Newman's Own. And he was married to the same woman for 50 years, a rarity in Hollywood.
He was gorgeous, talented, and a mensch- not a bad combination.

Sounds very good.
I'm surprised I haven't heard of him before. Or perhaps I had and just don't remember.
