Apparently, world famous millionaires Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie need six nannies to "combat the chaos" and help them take care of their six young children.
Meanwhile, thousands of Jewish mothers in Boro Park, Williamsburg, and Bnei Brak are raising 6, 8, 10, or more children while holding down full time jobs, volunteering every week, cleaning, cooking, baking, and doing mounds of laundry... without any hired help at all.
In my eyes, those women are the true superstars.

First of all, the big difference between Angelina Jolie and many of those Boro Park mom's is a working husband.
But seriously, there was a woman up here who ran for Parliament a few years ago. Her daddy runs the biggest auto parts factory in the country and she lives in a huge mansion in the very nicest part of Toronto. Her only real problem is that she's divorced with children but that's okay because when she was running for office she said she understood the stress single moms were under.
I work full time, and have almost all my free time taken up with the family, learning, and other projects I work on (blogging, marathon training, and more).
My wife works a job about 60%. Aside from that she freelances with clients, she works with locally produced plays as musical director, and she finds things to keep busy with in whatever time she has left.
We have 7 kids.
Not everybody with a lot of kids have husbands not working.
And we manage without 7 nannies. heck, we manage without even one nanny. I dont even know how we would afford a nanny. we can hardly even make ends meet as it is.
These are the superstars. Jolie is pretty, and she does great humanitarian work in Africa, but she does not hold a candle to these women.
Just to clarify-
I was absolutely NOT taking a dig at husbands. Most Jewish husbands are good guys who are dedicated to their wives and children.
I was simply expressing my admiration for these hard working women.
I like this line from the article you linked:
they tried to make do with four nannies, but needed to fly in an additional two to combat the chaos.
You really gotta feel for them...
:-)
they have 6 nannies!? i knew i was doing something wrong. i only have 5.
great post:-)
so that's why I'm so busy. I've been trying live my life without nannies! I obviously need 3 or 4, even though I don't have kids yet.
They have six nannies. And a fleet of cars.
But tell me, are they REALLY happy?
baila-
Well, of course they're happy. Have you SEEN them?!? They get to sleep with each other!
Raizy: I like your sense of humor.
I don't know, Raizy, there are rumors....you know Brad's been leaving the cottage to shop and take Pax and Mohawk boy to the some film festival. I think Angie is resentful that he gets to have a good time (Clooney is fun to be with) and she is stuck at home taking care of six kids. (Sure she has six nannies, but still, someone has to supervise them).
I agree, they are true superstars!
Reminds me of what you commented on Lion of Zion's video post of the mother from Israel that had 19 children!
Baila, people who have six nannies for six children aren't the ones supervising the nannies. Take your pick from among the housekeepers, butlers, cooks, maids, personal assistants etc. that also people such a household. Do you really think that this couple would have 6 kids if they were responsible for the day to day living for a family of 8 solely on their own?
