Mofet JTEC Online is a portal that contains information and links of interest to Jewish teachers in Israel and North America. It is run by the Mofet Institute, which was established in 1983 by the Israeli Department of Teacher Education. It seems to be updated daily. Some of the topics featured today include the use of interactive whiteboards, addressing body image and eating disorders, a new program for North American college graduates called the Israel Teacher Corps, and an O.U. proposal to reduce yeshiva tutition that was presented in Los Angeles.
I'm impressed by the variety of current information and resources that this site offers. If you are involved in Jewish education, whether as a professional or as a parent, you may find it interesting as well.

Did you click on "O.U. Proposes Measures To Increase Yeshiva Revenues and Reduce Tuition"? Interesting proposals. I liked the sponsored O-U toolbar. Cute way to raise money. Worried about increased class sizes and fewer aides. No easy way.

I did click on the O.U. Proposal article. (Orthonomics posted about it a little while back.) I am so glad that this issue is finally being addressed publicly and by influential Jewish organizations. It's going to take some time for the various communities to figure out what they're willing to sacrifice and to make changes. But if we all continue the conversation, change will eventually come.
I have not looked at the Lookstein site yet, but I will.
