From The Mixed Up Files Of Supermangirl

How she got her name:
"Mommy! Look at the cool poster Racheli gave me! There's Superman, and there's SupermanGirl."

Shortly after her brother's Bar Mitzvah:
"Grandma said that Flash is growing up. Can we kick him out of the house now?"

Late one night, punch drunk with exhaustion:
"I wonder what my brain looks like."

After drawing a picture for her aunt:
"I'm not done yet, I have to write my name. Wait... what's my name again?"

Telling a story:
"Once upon a time there was a scary monster. His name was Scary Monster."

And my all-time favorite, said when she was two years old:
"Oh Mummy, I yub you."
(To which of course I responded "Oh, sweetie, I yub you too.")

LOL. So funny. If only the rest of us were so quaint. But then we all can't be cute and funny.

I loved it when the kids added to the language. Some of their "new" words have remained with us for all these years and have become real "in" jokes for our family.

Thank you all for your comments. The cool thing about her is that she has absolutely no idea how funny she can be.

BTW, "From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" was one of my favorite books as a kid.

Oh, man, Baila, I was trying to figure out why the title sounded so familiar. Thanks for sorting that out

when i worked as a hospital nurse i started covered my hair, and i felt that my little cap with long hair beneath it looked something like batgirl's headcover. i loved identifying with her, so i found a cartoon picture of her, and stuck it right over the picture of me on the photo id i wore everyday. my pediatric patients loved that their nurse was batgirl! ;-)
