Once Again Now, With Feeling...

Chief Justice John Roberts went to the White House tonight to re-administer the presidential oath of office to Barack Obama. Yesterday, as you'll recall, the two men struggled with the 36-word, Constitutionally mandated oath, resulting in Obama's misplacement of the word "faithfully". Concerned that some might question the validity of the swearing-in, Obama's aides decided to ask Roberts to swear him in again. This time, when Roberts asked him if he was ready to take the oath, Obama replied "I am. And we’re going to do it very slowly.”

Apparently the mistakes were on both parts. We're still very proud of you though!

That was possibly the reason why the second oath was done without a Bible.

For more on that issue, and the other halakhic considerations behind Obama's decision to redo the oath, see my post here.
